Unfortunately, VolumeCare is not advertised to change the volume on BlueTooth headsets. The product called BTmute does work on some versions of the Treo 650 ROM's. Other than BTmute, there is no solution in the market today that will effect BlueTooth volume.
Basically, the application will bump up the volume by about 20% by doing its job "after" the BlueTooth headset and the Treo had configured themselves during a call. So the timeout values in BTmute describe the amount of time BTmute should wait for the Bluetooth/Treo connection to be established before BTmute did its job. If BTmute did its job before the connection was established, BTmute would not increase the volume. So set the times to a time *longer* than the amount of time it takes for this connection to be made.
Here are some things to check:
1) Obtain the newest version of VolumeCare from: Get VolumeCare Here
2) Is VolumeCare Enabled? Check the main screen of VolumeCare in the upper right hand corner.
3) Is VolumeCare installed in the Treo’s main memory? It will not work from an SD Card.
4) The new VolumeCare volume graph will only display when you are on a phone call.
5) The VolumeCare volume graph will only display when you are using the Treo's built in speakers or a wired headset during a call. VolumeCare is disabled when any Bluetooth device is active.
6) Make sure you have the proper speaker type enabled in the Phone Mode configuration screen.
7) Uncheck the ENABLED box in the main screen of VolumeCare. Then press the GREEN Phone Button on your Treo keyboard. Now go back into VolumeCare and Check the ENABLED box in the main VolumeCare screen. Now make a phone call and see if VolumeCare works.
If none of these things help, please write to support@GoTreoSoftware.com.

There is still a location for a license key because VolumeCare can now take 3 license keys. A new module is available in the release I sent to you called Bypass. VolumeCare now has the ability to bypass the headset jack in the event the headset jack has a hardware failure. This is a very common failure on the 650's and when this jack fails, it renders your Treo useless!
You should see that your license level correctly reflected in the field just above the license key.
In the order confirmation you got from PalmGear, there should have been instructions to download the official copy of VolumeCare before you try to install the license key. I have attached the new version of VolumeCare to this email for you to install. After installing, you will see there is a location to enter your license key.
If your license key is not accepted, follow either procedure below to request a replacement license key:
Please follow the link: Replacement Key Link (http://www.gotreosoftware.com/support/lost_serial.php)
Please send all of the information from the "Display ID Information" menu item in VolumeCare and I will gladly recreate a license key(s) for you. All replacement license keys require this information in order to create the new key(s). To get to this menu screen:

My business practice is to not charge for upgrades once you have purchased a product from me. So when I create new significant feature(s) that have taken a significant amount of developement time, I release those features as *optional* add-on's to the base product. IN this way, people can stay current with the base product and optionally take advantage of new features as they become available. So this is what you see today with VolumeCare. A base product priced at $14.95 and the Pro Upgrade is priced at $5.00. Now there is an additional module called “Bypass” that is priced at $11.95.
Absolutely you can upgrade! You will never have to purchase features from GoTreo more than once!
VolumeCare Basic free upgrade to VolumeCare 5 Basic
VolumeCare plus Add-On free upgrade to VolumeCare 5 Pro

What is possible though is that you have experienced the *very* well known Headset Jack hardware failure. This problem has nothing to do with VolumeCare but sometimes it happens and people first think it was the software that caused the failure. When the headset jack fails it can cause crack at the beginning followed by a complete loss of speakers. Sometimes it is only the handset or the speaker phone. Other times it is all speakers and the MIC. What happens is that the headset jack fails and causes the Treo to think it has a headset plugged in permanently. So this cuts out all speaker activity and MIC activity. This is caused from 2 things: 1) a solder connection failure from the headset to the circuit board. This happens because there is no re-enforcement of the headset jack other than the solder connections. 2) The electrical connections themselves in the headset jack break and short out the jack making it think you have a jack inserted in to the jack all the time.
Again, this is a very common problem. I see many reports of this same condition a week and I have developed a solution that may help you. There is a new module to VolumeCare called "Bypass" that it works by making the Treo ignore the Headset Jack. The feature can be found in the Advanced Configuration screen of Phone Mode.

VolumeCare does not currently work with the Treo 700w or any other windows mobile device. GoTreo Software is expanding its operations into the Windows Mobile environment in the very near future.
GoTreo Software Products for which trials are available were developed with only a single trial period in mind. There is no provision in the current product line to extend an expired trial.
